There is a third type of such tools. it is practically a full-fledged stationary machine, which is able to cope with both thin pipes, and with thick tubes, whose diameter does not exceed 2 inches.
  • Manual threading tongs. its design is quite different from its electric counterpart. It is a round holder for a changeable tool, equipped with a ratchet. The task of the latter is to ensure the operation of the machine in two directions (forward and backward). To make it easier to work with this tool, it is equipped with a rather long lever, which can be built up if necessary. Like its manual electric counterpart, it is divided into two numbers: the clupp is capable of cutting threads from half an inch to an inch and a quarter, and the clupp number is designed to cut threads of one and a half and two inches. There are no universal hand held clups with interchangeable blades.

This is how things are with such a useful tool as a threading tong. I want to note additionally that this tool can be made in one set, for example it can be designed only for cutting a half-inch thread or only for cutting a three-quarter thread. Such tool can be sold individually or in sets. But there is no sense to get a set of clips. it is better to get a universal clipper with a set of replaceable tools.

  • A crescent is a tool for threading in hard-to-reach places. It looks like a slotted wrench, but instead of a bolt head, it has a hole to hold the indexable cutters. The principle of the clipper is similar to the die, only instead of a whole washer, it uses its cutting edge, and for turning it uses a mechanism similar to a wrench. There are wrenches which use an adjustable wrench or an open-end wrench for turning instead of a solid body. Such a device will cost less than a one-piece clevis with a ratchet, but when using them, you can be injured, because the wrench sometimes slips off.
