Special rotating inserts and anvils for various types are supplied with the machine. Inserts and anvils are marked. The “A” marking means that the inserts are designed for 3/8″ and 0.404″ set spacing. “B” for 1/4″ and 0.325″.
The machine works as follows. Saw chain with new link and rivets is installed in guide inserts. Repair link with rivets installed in it is pressed by the working roller to the anvil, then the motor is turned on and the roller begins to rotate, gradually crushing the rivet, at this point, the machine operator slightly increases the pressure roller force, tightening the adjusting screw. How to tension a chainsaw chain correctly

The reason is that a hot saw chain is longer than a cold saw chain. If you start to tension it, there is a risk that the guide bar will bind and deform once it has cooled.

If the bar is newly installed and there is very little wear, there is no point in changing the chain. It is sufficient to adjust the tension in the chain. What are the signs of insufficient tension? The chain is sagging at the bottom of the bar and slipping sideways at the top. It causes it to twist when you are sawing and consequently affects the service life of the bar. it wears unevenly. In addition, insufficient tensioning of the chain increases the risk of the chain jumping off the bar and causes increased wear on the saw blade and drive sprocket. Because tightening the chain correctly is not enough to remove slack from the chain, it is also important not to overtighten it. A tight running of the blade in the bar contributes to increased stress on the engine and other working units of the tool. Try to turn the chain around the bar by hand. If this is difficult, it must be loosened.
Important to know! A new chain most often needs tensioning, because it tends to stretch at the beginning of use. Check the tension of the chain at all times and readjust as necessary. This will extend its life and reduce wear on other important parts of the saw.
Installing the new chain on the bar
To change the saw blade, you must loosen the guide bar and remove the old chain. To do this, loosen the fasteners on the cover that holds the saw head, remove the chain from the sprocket and remove the bar. The new chain must have the same dimensions as the old one. Put it on the bar in the guide bar slot with the driving links. The free end of the chain is attached to the sprocket. Check that the chainrings fit into the groove over the entire length of the bar. Install the bar on the pin where it is attached to the tool. Close this assembly with the cover and secure the bar. This is done using screws or a rotary knob.
Tip: to get an even wear of the tire it is recommended to turn it upside down. to swap the upper and lower parts. A guide is given by the inscription on the tire. For example, if the letters have been positioned correctly, when replacing them, the lettering should be upside down.

- No tool is needed to tension the chain. This way is easier and faster. There is a tensioning screw on the side of the cover to tension the chain. By turning it, you control the amount of slack in the chain.
How do you know your chainsaw chain is tightened properly?? It should not be loose at the bottom and when you pull it back the teeth inside the bar should be no more than 4-6mm out of the guide bar groove. It is important to make sure the chain is not over tightened. To do this, rotate it by hand along the bar in the direction of rotation, just as you would do with a saw. If it’s easy, you’ve done everything right. It is considered better to under tighten the chain than to over tighten it. This is readily apparent and can be adjusted in the process. But the difficult movement of the sawing equipment is not immediately noticeable and has a detrimental effect on the motor. Why the chain comes off, why is it coming off?
If you’re wondering why the chain on your chain saw is coming off, it means there’s something wrong with the mechanism. There are three main causes of this malfunction: improper operation of the bar, chain stretching and poorly secured sprocket. Let’s look at each of the possible causes.
If there is a problem with the tire, it is almost always the chain tension that is loose. This problem usually occurs where the tire is attached.
This location is in the slot between the outer plate, which is on the chain guard, and the inner plate, which is on the motor housing. The housing, along with the tire, is secured with a bolt. This attachment is called the “engine knot”. The drive sprocket and the tire mounting are protected by special covers.
If the securing bolts come loose, the tire begins to move or vibrate. If the tire is in good condition, the chain should be properly tensioned. After tensioning, it will run for at least five working days without tensioning. So you need to get a good grip on the bolts that hold the tire in place.

A regular chainsaw chain is made of strong steel, so it’s hard to disconnect. The chain must be separated on the inside of the rivet, which serves as the connecting mechanism.
First you need to fix the chain in a vice and then gradually grind away the protruding part. Use a file or file to grind. Do not use an angle grinder, as there is a risk to damage the side parts of the links. After sharpening rivets are knocked out with a bead. Do not throw the rivet away. After removing one or more links (depending on how stretched the chain is) the chain can be connected. We connect on the old rivets, while pressing them tightly on the sides.
Next, we need a welder. The rivet must be welded to the sides of the link. After that, use a file to grind off the excess that was created when working with the weld. The chain can be considered as operational again.
The drive sprocket is loose
One possibility for a slack chain on your machine is a problem with the drive sprocket. This is frequently caused by a loose sprocket. Now we will tell you how to attach the sprocket correctly and then put the chain on the chainsaw.
The first thing to do is to remove the motor cover. Next, remove the spark plug cover, pull out the air filter. Then use a special wrench to unscrew the spark plug. In its place, a special stopper is put, which fixes the piston in a certain position. Using a special wrench (you can use a universal wrench for the angle grinder) we rotate the clutch disk clockwise until the piston reaches the extreme upper position. When viewed through the spark plug hole, the piston should remain at the bottom. A thick rope can be used as a stopper and it is better to fold it several times. After locking, you can clamp the drive sprocket by turning the clutch disc counterclockwise.

Resharpening the chain of an electric saw with your own hands
It is best to entrust the restoration of the cutting set to professionals from the service center. If there is no such a possibility, you can sharpen the chain of electric saw by yourself.
To do this, the gardener will need a set that includes:
- A round file with reference lines marked on it;
- A flat file needed to correct the depth stop;
- A calibration tool;
- a mandrel for finding the right angle.
While sharpening the teeth with a round file, the operator must always make sure that its surface protrudes over the teeth of the chain by no more than 1/5 of its length. It’s better to mark the first tooth to be sharpened beforehand, to avoid sharpening it again later. All movements of the operator must be strictly in one direction.
After processing each prong, you need to move on to restoring its limiter. To do this, hold the calibration tool against its edge. As a result the end piece should be close to the limiter. Otherwise, the limiter will need to be trimmed with a flat file. So the calibrator must be perpendicular to the guide bar of the electric saw.
