  • Gearbox will have to buy. It is connected to the machine’s gearbox;
  • A rotary plow has large enough dimensions, so you need to install the wheels. Old wheels from motorcycles will do.

Such a design will last a long time. It’s important to change the oil that lubricates the gearbox in a timely manner to prevent breakdowns.

The most popular are single body ploughs. In addition, it is considered the best option for those ploughing without skills.

There is a curved feather on top of the reversible plow, which allows for the immediate overturning of the soil layer during plowing. This feature makes it an excellent choice for farming hard terrain. Since the design of such a plough is rather complicated, only an experienced person can make it.

The rotary plough is the most difficult to produce. Its design is more like a cultivator, as it has several plowshares on one axis. When processing the soil, the axle is scrolled, due to which the layer of soil is turned over. The advantage of this design is that the soil can be worked to a depth of up to 30 cm with little effort. The rotary plough can also be used to plow a plot in different trajectories.

So, a single-hoe plow is the most widespread, and anyone can work with it, even those who are not familiar with mechanized plowing. Another advantage is that this implement is quite easy to make with one’s own hands.

It is a stand to which two ploughshares are welded: undercutting and overturning, and reclining. To make the tilting plough more rigid an angle is welded on top that rests against the upper edge of the tipper.

If you make your own, you can simplify the adjustment of the plowing depth. The crossbeam, which is bolted to the uprights, is welded to the plough and made longer. No need for a box. At the front of the cross beam is attached a bracket, into which is fixed an additional vertical pole that is big enough to go out of the overturning soil zone.

In the vertical small square stand at the front a few holes are drilled for bolts, through which at the required height the tie rod, coming from the power tiller at an angle of 90°, is fastened. To this front post, the tie rod is attached by two welded plates with eyelets. Two bolts are inserted and secured with nuts. They connect the stand and the drawbar. This kind of connection is easier and more efficient. The plowing depth can be adjusted.

To prevent the ground from getting stuck in the gap, a thin sheet of tin is welded between the lower and upper coulter, which will help the ground to travel smoothly and quickly in an arc and turn over in layers.

Nuances of single and double row units

How to mount a plough to a single axle tractor

Before you start setting up the plough, prepare the single axle tractor and mount the plough to the single axle tractor. To do this, the single-axle tractor is placed at the place of work, the wheels with rubber tires are removed and steel ground wheels are installed. This is done to reduce slipping of the walking block while plowing because of the resistance of the soil.

A feature of all horse-drawn plows, without exception, is considered their heaviness, created by the bulky mouldboard. If such plough is installed to single axle tractor without modification, the land will not be tilted.

This is a big plus, since the ploughshare of the horse plow will not undergo any changes.

To make a plow from a horse plow to a single axle tractor will be needed:

  • make a mouldboard yourself, which is cut out of steel billets (3 cm thick) according to a drawing made beforehand. It is advisable to make a cardboard template for accuracy;
  • After cutting the stainless mouldboard is given a special shape;
  • remove the horse blade and install a homemade one instead;
  • Remove the handles, which were on the vertical axis;
  • instead of them, weld metal fasteners, through which the plow will be hinged to the tiller.
  • If during field tests it turns out that the converted horse plow does not throw back well, you should bend the ploughshare slightly, so that it could tear into the soil more strongly.
