What you need to make a homemade rake?

Having put on and fixed the wheels, two thick steel plates are welded on both sides of the tube at a distance of 10-12 cm from them, the other ends of which are welded to the drawbar. This design allows maximum strengthening of the axle to the drawbar.
Then to the tube, on which the wheels are fixed, it is necessary to weld 2-3 struts of equal length. At the top of the columns you need to weld small strips of pipe. Usually for them you take a thick-walled tube with a diameter of 40 mm. The axis of the hand-made rake is inserted in these segments, and the main requirement is that this axis must rotate freely inside the welded segments. To prevent the axle from walking from side to side during the movement of the power tiller, plugs or retaining rings are put on the outer ends of the two outermost sections of the pipe.
Having finished with the base, the tines need to be made and installed. They are made of 6 or 8-mm pieces of wire. The length can be arbitrary, the main thing is that all the tines must be equal in size.
First, the pieces of wire must be bent in the shape of the letter “C”, and then welded to the frame of the rake. On the final stage of making the rake for the power tiller with his own hands the construction must be equipped with a lever that allows the operator to lift and lower the tines.
