It should be specified that in order to securely fasten the coupling, a retainer is applied to the threads of the shaft, which connects these elements extremely firmly. It can be difficult to break such a clutch, even with a convenient stop. To facilitate the disassembly process and to protect the piston and the rest of the mechanism from damage, the threads should be heated with a gas torch or construction hair dryer. The high temp will loosen the adhesive properties of the latch and make it easier to separate parts.

Having unlocked the overrunning clutch, continue unscrewing in a clockwise direction (left-hand thread).

How to remove the chainsaw clutch.
